Fathers Right's and Resource Network is founded to give fathers a place to turn when they need answers. Everyone deserves a fair shot at being a parent. Fathers have to start somewhere. We don't get a manual when we have a baby. It is hard. Our image is tainted by a biased media and government. Sacrifices may need to be made, and you may need to ask for help. Sometimes you don't know who to ask, or even what to ask. This is why we are here.
You have made an active choice to be a father. Congratulations! I am always impressed when a father is active in his child's life. Though it is not uncommon as the news would have you believe. There are just as many good fathers as there are good mothers. Don't let anyone tell you different, no matter what their qualifications are. They are wrong! The media needs sensationalism to sell their stories. They don't usually retract a story after it has been proven wrong. As in the case of dead beat dads. John Stossel has pointed out that the numbers used to calculate non payment of child support came ONLY from custodial mothers. No information was obtained from the non custodial fathers for verification. Thus, the "statistics" are biased, or one sided. Imagine if the court system was run like that: the prosecution got to tell the story without the defendants story or even being in the courtroom. The defendant would be indicted every time.
This organization has the resources that fathers need to make healthy decisions for their children and future. Any questions you have are more than welcomed, in fact, they are encouraged. We will be posting articles and resources to assist in you day to day and special needs.
